Helping Women in Uganda Celebrate God's Faithfulness with Dignity, Beauty, and Joy

During a mission trip to Uganda, Carie met a young woman named Sandra who deeply loves the Lord. Carie felt God prompting her to give Sandra one of her dresses. What seemed like a small gift became the beginning of something much bigger.

That moment planted a seed in Carie's heart and inspired a mission: to ensure that every woman and young lady in Uganda has the opportunity to dress beautifully for one of the most important church celebrations of the year, their Thanksgiving Celebration.

This is not Thanksgiving as we know it in America. In Uganda, Thanksgiving Celebration is a sacred, all-day church service dedicated to thanking God for His goodness, bringing their best offering to the Lord, and celebrating all He has done throughout the year. It is a day filled with worship, praise, dancing, and joyful fellowship.

For this special occasion, women traditionally wear their very best attire as an expression of honor, gratitude, and celebration before the Lord.

Dress Donation Guidelines:

Lightly used semi-formal and formal dresses
Dresses must be modest and appropriate for church services
Dresses must cover the shoulders
Dresses must extend to the knees or below
Dresses should be clean and in excellent condition
Jewelry donations are also welcomed and appreciated

In December, Carie will personally take these donations to Uganda and host a special fashion show with the women and young ladies, allowing them to choose a dress and jewelry that makes them feel beautiful, confident, and celebrated.
